Gunite and Fiberglass

Gunite pools are one of the two types of in-ground pools we install. First, our crew digs a hole, puts the plumbing in place and assembles a framework grid with 3/8-inch steel reinforcing rebar rods. The rebar rods are spaced about 10 inches apart and secured with wire. When the grid is in place, the crew sprays a heavy coating of gunite, a mixture of cement and sand, around the rebar. The sprayer unit combines dry gunite mix with water just before spraying. This produces the wet concrete material. The crew trowels the gunite smooth and lets it sit for a week or so before applying a smooth finish to the rough surface. The most popular finish is called plaster, a mixture of cement and marble sand, but a lot of people finish their pools with special concrete paint. Gunite pools can also have tile, exposed aggregate or fiberglass finishes. Gunite pools are highly durable, and they can be built in any shape or size.

Fiberglass pools start with a fiberglass pool shell, manufactured off-site. The installation of the shell typically takes about two days. Fiberglass pools have no liner, so there’s no need to concern yourself with puncturing the pool surface. Fiberglass pools are incredibly strong and durable so there’s no need to be concerned about damaging the pool during daily use.

Above Ground

Above-Ground pools are the least expensive pool option, and usually the easiest and fastest to install. First, our installers level the ground to make a flat building surface. Then we assemble the perimeter track, which supports the metal and plastic outer wall. Next, we spread sand in the pool area and install the plumbing. Finally, we secure the vinyl liner over the pool walls, fill the pool with water, smooth the liner and fasten it into place. We then hook up the pump and filtering system. Your pool is now ready!

Today’s above ground pools are economical and beautiful. With an above ground pool, you’ll get more pleasure out of those hot summer months. A backyard pool is a great place for families to bond and for friends to get together!

Manufacturers of today’s above ground swimming pools have succeeded in producing materials that combine quality and durability with beauty. Today’s above ground pools are constructed of industrial strength steel or aluminum and super strong resin, specially coated with multiple layers to resist corrosion, scratching, and UV rays. They are also available in beautiful colors and patterns to suit the most discriminating tastes.

On Ground

On-Ground Pools

These semi-inground pools are perfect for yards that slope. On-Ground pools can be installed partially in the ground and partially out or entirely in the ground. A surrounding deck can be installed, made of redwood or pressure treated lumber and complimented with either a concrete deck or pavers. On-Ground pools do not require a heater in most cases. This is because they are warmed by the sunshine during the day and surrounded by air temperature during the night. They are also insulated by their thick walls.
