The Best Ways to Enjoy Your Hot Tub This Summer

When the temperatures rise, do you find yourself skipping your regular hot tub soak? You don’t have to let summer temps keep you from enjoying ,,your hot tub! Don’t miss out on all the recreational, relational, and therapeutic benefits while you’re waiting for the weather to cool off. You don’t need to! Here are some of the best ways to enjoy your hot tub this summer.

Take advantage of cooler temperatures in the morning and evening.

In our area, we’re lucky to have the best of both worlds: plenty of warm summer days broken up by much cooler mornings and evenings — providing the perfect opportunity for a daily hot tub soak!

Starting the morning with a hot tub session will get your day off on the right foot. You can use the time to meditate or pray, listen to a podcast, or just enjoy your coffee and the solitude. A nighttime soak is excellent for de-stressing, relaxing with your loved ones, or,, getting your body and mind ready for a good night of rest.

Banish body aches and pains with water circuit therapy.

Water circuit therapy is simply the act of immersing your body in warm water, followed by a cool bath or shower. Start with a 10-minute soak in your hot tub. Since it’s so quick, you can do this at any time of the day, even when the sun is at its peak. The heat will warm up your muscles and joints, increase blood flow throughout your body, and help with soreness. Follow that immediately with an as-cold-as-you-can-stand-it shower or bath. The cold will also help ease soreness. Plus, it will help reduce inflammation and stimulate your nervous system.

After your one-two hot and cold punch, you should notice a marked decrease in pain.

Of course, if you can’t bear the thought of a cold shower, just wait for a cooler part of the day. Also, if you want, you can nudge your hot tub thermostat down to 98℉ for a more comfortable soak that still has all the hydrotherapy benefits you’re after. As always, make sure to stay hydrated while using your spa.
